Founded in 1983 by industrialist Yatsutsune "Ricky" Chiba, Team Taisan would enjoy a 35-year run as Japan's most successful privateer sports car racing team, with numerous wins in JGTC competition capped by a series championship in 1995. The car that would deliver Taisan's championship was the popular 993-generation Porsche 911 GT2, which prevailed over the formidable homegrown Nissan Skylines that previously dominated the series. Presented here is Spark's new 1:43-scale resin replica of the Team Taisan Porsche 993 GT2 that claimed the 1995 JGTC GT1 championship, as it appeared in victory at the Mine Circuit with drivers Hideshi Matsuda and Keiichi Suzuki. Resplendent in its vibrant STP livery, Spark's GT2 boasts an incredibly accurate cockpit and a host of other fine touches including delicate front winglets and impossibly thin air dam supports.
