1966 saw the grueling Spa 24 Hours endurance race become a part of the European Touring Car Championship, and the cream of the continent's touring car racing community rose to the challenge. Among the entrants that year were the works-backed Autodelta Alfa Romeo 1600 GTAs, and though significantly down on displacement to the dominant 2-liter BMWs and thundering V8 Mustangs, the nimble GTA of Enrico Pinto and Jacques Demoulin would persevere to claim a strong second-place overall finish - a significant result in the GTA's storied competition history.

The Pinto/Demoulin Alfa Romeo 1600 GTA is now the subject of an exceptionally detailed 1:43-scale resin model car by Spark. Finished in Alfa Romeo's historic dark red livery, the model is replete with fine details, including prominent auxiliary lighting and racy side-exit exhaust, along with delicate sponsorship decals.
