Though never an official Ferrari-applied model designation, the "Lightweight" specification F40 is considered by many to be the most desirable variant of the model. These early production cars are recognizable by their European-spec bumpers and Lexan sliding windows, which when coupled with their lack of U.S.-mandated crash structures resulted in a lighter, more intense driver's car than later models, particularly those we got here in the States.
