The legend of the Porsche 911 begins here: the 901, the prototype for what would become history's greatest sports car. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1963 and based on a design by Butzi Porsche, the 901 was an evolutionary step forward from the outgoing 356 model, offering more power and modern-yet-familiar styling. Only 84 901 prototype models were completed (with none officially sold to the public) before a legal challenge from Peugeot over naming rights led to re-christening of the model as the now-ubiquitous 911.

As public fascination with the history of the Porsche marque has reached dizzying heights, it was only natural that diecast car companies would turn their attention to the earliest version of Porsche's most famous model. Thus, we're thrilled to present Mini GT's premium 1:64-scale replica of the 1963 Porsche 901, a stunningly beautiful model that is certain to appeal to any serious Porsche enthusiast. Finished in a subtle ivory hue, Mini GT's 901 features a wealth of fine details, including carefully crafted grille, wiper blades and "Porsche" badging. A standout diecast model at an affordable price, the Porsche 901 by Mini GT carries Model Citizen's strongest possible recommendation.
