The 1970 running of the 12 Hours of Sebring saw the titanic Group 5 battle between Porsche and Ferrari take to the unforgiving central Florida pavement for a once-round-the-clock thriller. Heavy attrition saw most of the factory-backed heavy hitters retire from the race, with victory going to the Ferrari 512S of Andretti/Giunti/Vacarella. Its main challenge for most of the race came from the Gulf-Wyer Porsche 917K driven by Pedro Rodriguez, Jo Siffert and Leo Kinnunen, a car that led the race at times before suffering from hub failure and settling for a disappointing fourth-place overall finish.

Though not victorious at Sebring in 1970, any Gulf-liveried Porsche 917 is coveted by collectors, and that's why Model Citizen is proud to offer Spark's exceptional limited-edition 1:43-scale resin replica of the #15 917K that came heartbreakingly close to taking the win. Flawlessly proportioned and elegantly finished, this model includes fine touches such as charming gold-striped Firestone tires and beautiful scarlet race seats.
